Zombies kill you after just a couple of hits, meaning death can come swiftly, and after the first couple of waves zombies increase exponentially in number and aggression. This is especially pronounced when you are first learning the maps and unlikely to survive beyond the early rounds. Of course, simply trying to survive longer than you did last time should be an enticement to continue playing but long loading times before and after each match disincentivise prolonged play.
